Creative Joy Studios is a woman-owned, Southern California-based art studio located inside the vibrant Del Amo Fashion Center. We’re more than just a creative space—we’re a playful, inclusive playground for your imagination to run wild, no matter your age or experience level.
From drop-in DIY Make & Takes to private parties, public classes, and inspiring events, everything we do is rooted in JOY. Whether you're a curious beginner, confident artist, or self-proclaimed "non-creative," you’ll find something exciting to dive into—from art kits and retreats to team-building experiences, mobile workshops, and more.
Our colorful studio is thoughtfully designed to be a happy haven—where creativity is unleashed, laughter flows freely, and every guest leaves with a rockin’ masterpiece and a happy heart. We even feature new and upcoming artists in our in-studio gallery—because we believe in lifting others as we create. So come on in, pick up a brush (or glitter, or glue gun), and let’s create something joyful together!

At Creative Joy Studios, we believe art is for everyone. Our approach is all about embracing the process, letting go of perfection, and making room for pure, joyful self-expression. We guide our guests—of every age, background, and skill level—on a “joy journey” where creativity is explored freely through a wide range of techniques, methods, and mediums.
Here, art is a space for bravery, not judgment. A place to quiet the inner critic, surrender the ego, and let the soul speak through color, texture, and form. With positivity and encouragement at the core of our teaching, “I can’t” transforms into “I totally got this!”
We blend intuitive, process-based exploration with traditional fine art fundamentals and open the door to new, innovative ways of making. It’s never about right or wrong—it’s about curiosity, confidence, and creative growth. We empower our guests to develop an artist mindset—one that’s open to exploration, risk-taking, problem-solving, and evolving into their fullest creative selves.

Meet Our Founder & Creative Director: Angelique Talbert
Angelique Talbert is the creative force and heart behind Creative Joy Studios. Known lovingly as “The Fairy Art Mother,” Angelique brings boundless energy, warmth, and vision to everything she touches. She’s a passionate educator, entrepreneur, speaker, coach, and lifelong creative with a mission to inspire joy through the power of imagination and artistic expression.
Her love for art started young—painting storefront windows and selling handmade crafts as early as age 10. Creativity runs in her family, and it’s been her lifelong calling. With a background in Fine Art from Long Beach State (on a full scholarship!) and a B.S. in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California, Angelique beautifully blends artistry with entrepreneurial brilliance.
A proud wife and mom of three amazing teenagers, she has poured her heart into teaching art in classrooms since her kids were in kindergarten. Beyond the studio, Angelique is a motivational speaker, business coach, and event planner who leads transformational conferences and empowerment events for women entrepreneurs, youth groups, schools, and churches.
She believes in the magic of the creative process—that art isn’t about perfection, but about the freedom to imagine, explore, and express. Her approach empowers others to let go, trust their inner artist, and experience the pure joy of creating from the heart.
